ABOUT THE CENTER

A compact research organization built around method, not institutional theater.

ACAE combines field access, analytical capability, digital publishing, and explicit governance into a small independent research structure.

OPERATING MODEL

Distributed infrastructure, centralized standards.

The center does not require ownership of a preserve or a traditional laboratory campus to conduct disciplined research.

Its infrastructure can include public ecological settings, authorized site access, coworking and meeting space, local computing, cloud services, field equipment, and a formal publication system. The critical requirement is accurate disclosure of what is owned, accessed, licensed, authorized, or merely referenced.

Research direction

Defines program questions, protocol gates, evidence standards, and release priorities.

Field operations

Maintains access records, site context, equipment procedures, and observation quality.

Data and computation

Maintains schemas, validation, code versions, reproducible environments, and analytic review.

Institutional communications

Separates research results, concept notes, vendor references, and external relationships.
